This week, I was craving something chocolatey, but also something sweet. It was one of those weeks were I was constantly on the go and did not have a ton of time to cook an elaborate dessert. So I did some research and came across chocolate covered strawberries. This involves exactly two recipes and was done in 5 minutes. Perfect for a busy day! I used my google home assistant to guide me through melting the chocolate. The rest was pretty straight forward. Check out the video to see how it went: Continue reading Chocolatey Snack in 5-minutes!

YouTube: Good or Bad?
YouTube has become a common technology tool used in the classroom. During my internship, I loved using YouTube for sets to lessons. My students seemed to love watching these mini videos and it captured their attention for the days lesson. For example, I used the classic Brooklyn 99 “I Want it That Way” video to start off the project of writing an eye-witness report. The students loved it.
However, as great as YouTube can be, there are also many cons. Below is a discussion between a parent and a teacher, staged by my classmate Hanna Wosminity and I. The parent does not want their child using YouTube for various reasons, but the teacher is advocating for it, showing the parent all the benefits it provides. Here is how the conversation went: Continue reading YouTube: Good or Bad?
Date (or self-love) Night Dinner
Hello everyone! It has been a minute since I hopped on here. Last time I updated you all on my cooking progress, Valentines day was fast approaching. Since I hate the crazy Valentines Day crowds, I decided to save some money and make dinner at home. My partner and I absolutely love steak, so I decided to make him a steak dinner for the first time ever. THIS. IS. A. BIG. DEAL. Steak is the one thing I am absolutely terrified of cooking. It is expensive and once you mess it up, there is no going back. Here is how it went: Continue reading Date (or self-love) Night Dinner
Basic Stir-Frying
This week, I made a yummy chicken stir fry. For majority of the recipe, I followed the video “How to Make an Easy Chicken Stir-Fry” by Chowhound on YouTube.
However, I did make a few changes…

Changed World of Technology
The fact the technology is constantly evolving is common knowledge. Every single day, we are seeing advancements in technology: new apps, better phones, improved software and more options. The things we can do with technology now is not even comparable to fifteen years ago. However, we are faced with a challenging question: is this doing more harm than good? Twitter Chat: #COLchat
Tonight, I participated in my first ever twitter chat! I was quite nervous heading into it, but now that I have done it… WOW! It was so enjoyable talking about passion areas with other educators on an international level. There are so many different view points and takeaways and I can’t wait for the next one. Here is how the chat went and some of the discussions: Continue reading Twitter Chat: #COLchat
Baked Spaghetti Squash? Yes, please!
This week, I expanded my horizons and tried something a bit more complicated than muffins. I am not going to lie, I was 100% certain that this was going to end up a complete disaster BUT it actually turned out pretty good. Yay!! Check out the process of making baked spaghetti squash with homemade tomato meat sauce (lengthy I know): Continue reading Baked Spaghetti Squash? Yes, please!

These Muffins are Bananas!
To kickstart my learning project, I decided to make healthy banana muffins using a recipe I read on Gimme Some Oven‘s blog. When I came across this blog, I was very excited. There are lots of great recipes that are all very healthy. Here is how the process went:
STEP ONE: Get the necessary ingredients. I was able to find all of these ingredients at Superstore. For me, going to the store was easiest but if this isn’t an option for you, you can actually shop online so they are ready to be picked up here. Continue reading These Muffins are Bananas!
Get to know me…
My name is Courtney Anderson and I am a secondary education student. Even though
my days are often spend studying and doing homework, I do have many other passions. I have been a dance instructor for the last six years. When I am not teaching, I volunteer coach community dance teams. I coached the Winston Knoll dance team for five years, the University of Regina dance team for two, and now I am currently coaching the Campbell jazz team. In my spare time I love escaping to the quiet of my cabin, spending time with family, exploring, and getting active. Throughout my education career I have completed a bit of blogging, but not consistently. However, I am very excited to give it a try and dive into the blogger life.
During my internship, I tried to incorporate technology in a variety of different ways. However, access to laptops was always very limited unless you book a minimum of two weeks in advance. This made things a bit harder and we often had to resort to cell phones; but nevertheless we used technology the best we could. Here were some of my favourites:
