Anti-Oppressive Pedagogy

• It is my goal to practice anti-oppressive education for the duration of my teaching career. I will continue professional development in this area and incorporate this into my practice in authentic ways.

Treaty Education  

• Living in Canada, it is a vital part of my practice to incorporate treaty education into my classroom every single day. I have done lots of individual professional development in this area and have built a network of teachers supporting this practice. I am excited to continue growing and learning in this area every single day.

Multiple Perspectives

• I acknowledge that every classroom as a diverse population. I hope to continue developing in this area to better support all students and voices that enter my classroom. Every culture is important and I want this to be acknowledged.

Inclusive Education             

• I believe in inclusive education and want to strive to bring this practice into my classroom. This is an area in education that can present many challenges. In order combat these challenges, I want to continue professional development in this area as much as possible.

Lifelong Learning                

• As an educator, I want to continually improve my practice. Throughout my career, I want to constantly be learning and improving myself. I believe in doing this, I will also be giving my students more opportunity to receive the best education possible.

Community Involvement

• I believe that community involvement in a school helps foster the feeling of belonging. Throughout my career, I am excited to be a part of the community and extra-curricular events in every way that I am able.
